Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 12 July 2026

Any service that lets people move large files is going to attract a handful who want to misuse it. This policy exists so that everyone knows where the line is, and so we can act quickly when someone crosses it. It forms part of our Terms of Use.

1. You must not use Vaulex to store, send or link to:

  • Anything that infringes someone else's copyright, trade mark or other intellectual property — including pirated films, music, software, games or ebooks.
  • Child sexual abuse material. We report this to the authorities without exception and without warning.
  • Material that is obscene, or that incites violence, terrorism, or hatred against any group.
  • Malware, viruses, ransomware, or anything designed to damage a computer system.
  • Content used for phishing, fraud, or impersonating another person or business.
  • Stolen data, leaked credentials, or personal data you have no lawful right to hold.
  • Anything otherwise unlawful under the law of England and Wales.

2. You must not

  • Send unsolicited bulk email using our transfer notifications.
  • Use the free plan through multiple accounts to get around storage or size limits.
  • Resell the service as your own without a written agreement with us.
  • Attempt to break, probe or overload our systems, or bypass any limit or security control.
  • Use automated tools to scrape or hammer the service.

3. What we do about it

We do not routinely inspect the contents of your files — we cannot, and we would not want to. But where we receive a credible report, or where automated abuse signals fire, we will investigate.

Depending on what we find, we may remove the content, disable the link, suspend the account, or report it to law enforcement. For serious matters, particularly child protection, we act immediately and without notice.

4. Reporting abuse

If you have received a Vaulex link containing something that breaches this policy, tell us at abuse@vaulex.co.uk. Include the link and a short description. We aim to respond to abuse reports within one working day.

5. Copyright complaints

If you are a rights holder and believe material has been shared through Vaulex without your permission, email abuse@vaulex.co.uk with the link, proof of your rights, and a statement that you have a good faith belief the use is unauthorised. We will remove infringing material promptly.
